Do you love the NHS and do you have a special story about it that you would like to share?

Dated: 7-Mar-18

Bedfordshire and Luton Clinical Commissioning Groups are inviting local people to tell their personal stories of why they love the NHS in the run-up to the NHS 70th birthday on 5th July.

We want to hear from patients, volunteers, carers or members of NHS staff (past and present) who are willing to share their experience of the NHS and how much it means to them.

Perhaps you or a family member experienced compassion and dedication of NHS staff,  pioneering or life-saving treatment, or maybe you share the same birthday as the NHS, or were one of the first NHS babies. Or you may have helped the NHS as a volunteer, or are a current or retired NHS member of staff –  we would love to hear from everyone who has a story to tell about how much the NHS means to you.

The stories will form part of a legacy which celebrates the NHS heritage, and they will be shared over the course of the NHS birthday year on the Bedfordshire and Luton Clinical Commissioning Groups’ websites.  Some of the local personal stories that are being collected will also be offered to the national NHS 70 archive, so they will become a piece of national history.

We have already started to collect some wonderful stories – from staff, volunteers and patients – and these can be seen on our websites: www.bedfordshireccg.nhs.uk or www.lutonccg.nhs.uk

To share your story about your local NHS and why it means a lot to you, just email nhs70.stories@nhs.net

Look out for our local  #NHS70Stories on Twitter @BCCG5 or @NHS_LCCG and on Facebook.
