Wasted Appointments - new policy w.e.f. 1 May 2008

In the whole year 546 appointments were wasted.
For January and February this year 75 appointments were wasted. This is just over 15 hours of appointment time that could have been used by other patients.
At the March Patient Participation Group Meeting we decided to implement the following policy from the 1st May in an attempt to try and resolve the problem with patient’s failing to attend without informing the surgery.
If you fail to attend your appointment two consecutive appointments or one double appointment without informing us we will write to you asking if there are any specific problems preventing you from letting us know.
If you repeatedly fail to attend you may be removed from the practice list
